Bowhead Awarded 5-Year, $249M USACE HITS-R2 Contract

SPRINGFIELD, Va. — Bowhead Total Enterprise Solutions, LLC (BTES), a subsidiary of UIC Government Services, was awarded a five-year $249M contract supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). The High-Performance Computing Modernization Program (HPCMP) Integrated Technical Services-Restricted 2 (HITS-R2) indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract provides the HPCMP with the technical and professional support elements required for the operation of the HPCMP Office (HPCMPO).

“We are thrilled about the HITS-R2 contract award,” said Michael Hundley, Senior Vice President of Operations for UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies. “The effort that went into pursuing this contract, as well as our exceptional track record of providing highly technical and advanced information technology services to the federal government, is a testament to Bowhead’s ability to perform at the highest levels in the federal contracting arena.”

Bowhead will provide support in all phases of planning and execution of the HPCMP mission, including technical and administrative support, program management, office and meeting facilities, a complete telecommunications and computer systems capability, engineering services, and full logistical services for the HITS-R2 system.

“Within Bowhead, we’ve built a highly advanced, highly capable Systems and Information Technology (S&IT) business group over the last ten years,” said Cary Randolph, Senior Vice President of S&IT. “We have the right people and resources in place to begin our work and provide HPCMP with the highly advanced services they need to be successful in solving some of our nation’s critical defense challenges.”

The HPCMP leverages its high-performance computing, networking, and computational expertise to accelerate the development of technological solutions. Program areas include the Department of Defense Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) and Acquisition Engineering (AE) programs; the Defense Research and Engineering Network (DREN); as well as supporting the Army with world-class, large-scale software development capabilities.

The HPCMP has been in operation for over twenty-five years, starting out in the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). In 2011, HPCMP transitioned to the Assistant Secretary of the Army, based at the USACE Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), in Vicksburg, Mississippi.

Continued advancement of the HPCMP benefits many of the nation’s scientists and engineers, by focusing on the science and technology necessary to solve complex defense challenges.
Bowhead’s support for this contract over the next five years includes the following locations:

• Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) in Vicksburg, Mississippi
• DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office, Alexandria, Virginia
