COVID-19 Update

The COVID-19 outbreak poses significant and evolving challenges for our employees, clients, and communities. UIC Government Services (UICGS) is committed to mitigating the impacts to UICGS and, most importantly, protecting the health and safety of our employees. We are actively working with all of our defense and civilian government agency customers to ensure continued support of their domestic and international missions during this critical time for our nation and our allies.

As we continue to carefully monitor and plan for how to most effectively and safely address the issues of the rapidly developing coronavirus situation, we are highly focused on our nation’s security, economic recovery through job creation, and cooperating with local, state, and national authorities.

Social Distancing

UICGS is closely following guidelines from the Center of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and other local and national health organizations. In an effort to slow the progress of the virus and to help mitigate the timeline over which sick patients arrive at healthcare facilities, government officials across the globe have suggested that people should engage in social distancing.

At this point in time, we are not closing our offices. However, to help promote social distancing, UICGS is encouraging employees to practice the following measures:

  • Telework, where possible
  • Avoid face to face conversations, or where required, maintain a distance of 6 feet or 2 meters apart (i.e. hallways, breakrooms, etc.)
  • Eliminate face to face meetings by utilizing technology to conduct all meetings virtually
  • Limit time spent in breakrooms, kitchens, and common areas

4 Steps if Exposed to COVID-19

With the health, safety, and welfare of all of our employees and their families in mind, UICGS developed detailed instructions for monitoring your health should you suspect you have been exposed or, in fact, have been exposed to COVID-19.

If you suspect that you have been exposed to COVID-19 (Coronavirus), follow the four steps below.

  1. Self-quarantine and self-monitor for 14 DAYS from the time of your initial suspected exposure.
  2. NOTIFY your Supervisor and the HSE Department at or
  3. If you get sick with a FEVER, COUGH, OR HAVE TROUBLE BREATHING, contact your local health department.
  4. Prior to returning to work, provide your supervisor with a FITNESS FOR DUTY / RETURN TO WORK note obtained through your Primary Care Provider.

Note: If you need to seek medical care for other reasons, such as dialysis, call ahead to your doctor and inform them of your suspected recent exposure.
