AS9100 is a widely adopted and standardized quality management system for the aerospace industry. It is a key requirement to do business with major prime contractors and an increasing number of Government customers. AS9100D includes the full text of ISO 9001:2015 and provides concurrent certification. In addition to aligning the structure of the aviation, space, and defense requirements, some key elements are:

• Counterfeit parts prevention
• Risks in operational processes
• Awareness of individual contributions to quality and safety
• Ethical behavior
• Human factors in nonconformity management and corrective action
• Configuration management

AS9100:2016 (AS9100D) and ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System certification was provided by National Quality Assurance, USA (NQA), an ANAB-accredited organization (certificate number NQA USA 478089-180817). The NQA Certification auditors found that Bowhead Manufacturing’s Quality Management System was in conformance with the requirements of AS9100:2016 (AS9100D)/ISO 9001:2015 and passed certification in its first review, with no major findings.
