Bowhead Opens New Manufacturing Facility in Plano, TX

Office will encourage economic growth in Texas through contracting services and business development

PLANO, TEXAS (May 18, 2016) — UIC Government Services (UICGS) and its Bowhead family of companies (commonly known as Bowhead) has announced the opening of its new Manufacturing Facility in Plano, TX. The new office will serve as a key location for supporting the company’s manufacturing operations in the United States. The Manufacturing and Products Group designs and builds from customer specifications or builds to print using the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 9001:2008 Quality Management System certification. This certification assures all customers that Bowhead is using the latest in quality management processes while practicing continuous improvement to consistently provide superior products and services. Bowhead maintains a robust, closed-loop procurement process with leading distributors and manufacturers, providing a solution to exceed customer’s expectations with a quality product, on time and on budget.

One of the key responsibilities of this facility is the production of NAVAIR Aviation Data Management and Control Systems (ADMACS). ADMACS is a tactical, real-time data management system that connects the air department, ship divisions, and embarked staff who manage aircraft launch and recovery operations aboard Aircraft Carriers.  Bowhead supports the Naval Air Warfare Center, Lakehurst, NJ by providing the servers, media convertors, Carrier Air Group Operations (CAG Ops) workstations, network and marine computers, and standalone network computer assemblies.  Other key areas of development for Bowhead’s Plano, TX facility include electro-mechanical assembly; system integration and environmental test; product sourcing and procurement; and inventory control, secure warehousing, kitting, packing, and shipping services.

Through the hiring of local talent, Bowhead intends to help spur economic growth and development by bringing new opportunities and jobs to the State of Texas. Jamee Jolly, President/CEO of the Plano Chamber of Commerce comments, “Plano is definitely open for business, and we continue to see companies relocate and expand here in our community. With an educated workforce and a dynamic economy, Plano is the perfect place to do business.”

Bowhead is hosting a Grand Opening event for the Manufacturing Facility on May 25, 2016. A number of dignitaries from local and state government, industry, and academia are expected to attend along with top executives from UICGS and its parent company, Ukpeaġvik Iñupiat Corporation.
